Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has launched a new version of the company's popular messaging app Skype Bearing the moniker Skype Lite, the app, as the name suggests, is primarily geared towards users with slow mobile data connection.

India-born Satya Nadella announced Skype Lite on the second day of Microsoft's two-day technology and business conference, Future Decoded being held in Mumbai.

Skype Lite developed by Microsoft's Hydrabad center and is claimed to be based on extensive user feedback provide by users including a large number of india.

having nearly all the regular features of the standard Skype app like message, audio/video calls and image sharing, Skype Lite is less than 13MB in size, As per Microsoft, the app works really well on even lower-end smartphone.

Skype Lite also allows users to track there data usage details directly from within the app. This can checked via the hamburger menu, accessible by swiping from the left.

Skype Lite is avilable on Android can be download from Google Play store, a Microsoft representative said that there are currently no planning the app to IOS, that may change in future.
